How to Control Links in Posts
on Nov 21 2005, 11:19 PM

A lot of people are still using Internet Explorer which doesn't offer much in the way of controling links. Firefox users have more control with the additional option of opening any link in a new tab.

If you want to create links to control the browser's response for a typical left click then here are your options.

  • google.com
      - provides only text with no link

  • www.google.com
      - opens the link in a new browser window

  • http://google.com  and  http://www.google.com
      - opens the link in a new browser window

  • Code:
    [iurl=http://www.google.com/]http://www.google.com[/iurl]

  • Code:
    [url=http://www.google.com/]TEXT LINK[/url]

  • Code:
    [iurl=http://www.google.com]TEXT LINK[/iurl]
      TEXT LINK
      - text link that opens in the current window

Hope this helps.
