I can't seem to login.
Usernames are not case sensitive but cannot contain any spaces or trailing spaces. Passwords are case sensitive and also cannot contain any spaces or trailing spaces.

If you arrive from another website then your browser security settings must be set to accept third party cookies from this domain.

I did a search for my salon but they were not listed.
Many clients will hear of BBU through their service provider. These businesses will have already subscribed to this online appointment system, thereby allowing their clients to schedule online appointments.

For those who cannot find their service provider in the BBU Search results, we can only suggest that you tell them about Beauty By Us the next time you are in for an appointment.

How do I change my username.
Usernames cannot be changed.

When I try to book an appointment I receive errors.
There are any number of reasons why you may be receiving errors or cannot book an appointment. Try selecting a time directly from their appointment book or try these tips.
  • this business requires that you must be in the same city, state or time zone to book an appointment - be sure that your registration information is up to date
  • this business has restricted online booking to a specific gender
  • this business has requested that clients book appointments at least 24 or 48 hours ahead of the current date
  • you didn't select a service from the list
  • your selected service(s) requires more time than exists between your chosen start time and the time they break for lunch or close
  • the business has restricted you from booking any more online appointments
If you are unable to book an online appointment for any of these reasons then call them directly or use their contact link to request an appointment.

How can I secure my login information.
If left unprotected, computers are vulnerable to viruses and trojans that can compromise your computer security. Online scans perform system and file checks to ensure that your computer has no infections. Two such online services, both of which are free, can be found here and here.

All computers that connect to the internet should have firewall and anti-virus protection. You can also scan your computer for spyware.

Why won't my banner appear on my homepage.
Check the URL of your banner by loading it into your browser.

When you successfully load the image then use that same URL for setting your banner location in your Control Center. If it still does not appear then re-upload the file to your server and try loading it in the browser.

If you still have no success then check the folder name where the image has been stored. Some firewalls prevent images from displaying if they have been stored in a folder named "/banner". For the same reason do not name your banner file with the word "banner".

If you still have no success then contact Beauty By Us.

What if the power fails or if my internet connection drops.
If the internet connection drops repeatedly then it could be either your ISP or that incoming or outgoing data communication has triggered your firewall to disconnect you from the internet.

On a dialup connection you should not have to reconnect more than 2 or 3 times throughout the day. Cable and ADSL are much more stable connections and should rarely drop.

If you are experiencing problems then call your computer rep. As a backup you can use the print feature in your browser File/Print to make a copy of the appointment book each morning.

Can I add more than one manager per business.
Yes. The business owner can assign more than one manager for each business location. However, a manager can not designate another manager. The owner must login to create additional managers.

What is the first thing to do when I go online.
The most important thing to do when a business takes their appointment book online is to enter existing appointment information into the system. As your clients hear of your new service and begin booking online, you will want to prevent the possibility of double booking by a client.
